Aperitif concert in collaboration with Media, writing and performance art

During the aperitif concert Woord, four students try to dock. On the quay, they gaze at the morning lost in the mist, the day that remains veiled and the night that inevitably approaches them. They look, peer, stare at the harbour. At the loading and unloading, at the labour and at the seagulls. While ships sail through the water around them, containers are lifted above their heads and dirty water sloshes and splashes in the distance, they ponder. They hope that someone is waiting for them. They hope for the arrival of another.

The four are inspired by the port of Antwerp. As a starting point, they (re)read texts by Ivo Michiels, Willem Elsschot, Maud Vanhauwaert and others. They wonder about the influence of the port on the city, try to understand each other through the jumble of languages that the sea brings with it, reflect on the implications of import and export, and search for love among the containers. They sway to the sounds of music and talk about leaving and coming home, about loneliness, about the city and the water.

By and starring Winter De Cock, Quinten Ornelis, Xander Kindt, Sid Djamel Besseghir.

This concert is organised by Bolster vzw.
