To round off his period at the Antwerp Conservatoire, guitarist Robin Elsmoortel invites some of his favourite young musicians to bring his own music to life. With Lars Van de Voorde at the piano, Jesse Dockx on drums and Cyrille Obermüller on double bass, he has managed to snare some of Belgium’s most promising young jazz musicians.
The music can best be described as a combination of the rich American jazz tradition and typical Scandinavian minimalism with a unique twist. Listeners can expect a lively concert in which melancholy is united with youthful vigour and energy, and in which contrast and musicianship are central.
