A musician and a visual artist will bring along a question, a method or an experiment to share with participants. Everyone is welcome; no registration is required.
This open practice is led by Kobe Van Cauwenberghe
Kobe has explored experimental works that combine orchestral textures with improvisational freedom, inspired by innovative traditions that reimagine the orchestra. Featuring repertoire by visionary AACM composers such as George Lewis, Wadada Leo Smith, Nicole Mitchell, Anthony Braxton, Douglas Ewart and others, his Creative Orchestra Lab offered a unique opportunity to delve into music that challenges hierarchies, blurs genres and redefines the role of the performer.
Kobe discusses rehearsing, interpreting and transforming music scores, conduction systems and open forms—thereby developing skills in collective creativity, listening and musical leadership.
