The library of the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp holds more than 600.000 volumes and is the largest music library in Flanders. The oldest work is a Gregorian manuscript from the end of the 13th century, the most recent works were composed, so to speak, yesterday.

The library is initially a college library, but thanks to its particularly rich historical music collection it became the first recognized heritage library in Flanders. In addition, the library also functions as a public music library: external visitors can consult the collection and borrow works (external visitors pay an annual membership fee of 10 EUR and can borrow free of charge).

In addition to its extensive music collection, the library also offers a fine collection of theater and dance works.
