Music
The first session of the entrance examinations in April and May will take place digitally. Under '4. The day of the entrance exam or an exam through video' you can find more information about digital participation.
The orientation tests Aural practice and general music theory and the entrance examinations Conducting will be take place live during the second examination period (between 24 August 2020 and 6 September 2020, exact dates to be determined) or during the introduction week (from 14 to 18 September 2020, exact moment to be determined).
The second session (instrumental or vocal tests, entrance examinations Conducting and the orientation tests) will take place 'live' unless you live in a non-EU country and are unable to be present the day of the entrance exam.
Exceptionally, all admission tests for jazz Session 1 will take place online. Your audition will consist of a video recording and a Zoom session (zoom.us). You have to upload your video recording with the requested program before May 10. One week before the zoom session, you will receive an e-mail with the compulsory work that you will present to the jury via Zoom on the day of the audition. During this session there will also be a motivation interview and a prima vista exercise. Additional exercises may be requested. One week before the zoom session, you will receive the time schedule and a link that allows you to participate in the session.
Candidate students for Bachelor 1 who pass the audition for instrument/voice will also be invited to take part in the audition for Eartraining and Reading skills. The Eartraining test will take place in group via Zoom. The Reading skills test will take place individually via Zoom. Only those who pass both the auditions for instrument/voice and the audition for Eartraining and Reading skills can be admitted to the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp. Candidates who do not pass the instrument/voice audition cannot take part in the audition for Eartraining and Reading skills
