The ecology of joy

The ecology of joy is a triptych that wants to explore how we can change our lives to live in harmony with the ecosystem, fellow human beings, our minds and technology. During this start-up project, Maud Mulier wants to elaborate on Modern magic thinking. This is written as a master's thesis and focuses on the psychology of the individual. She also wants to write part two, Filmvlies. Filmvlies focuses on visual culture and technology and investigates how word art, dialogue and reflection can help us to make our way through the jungle of images.

In what areas is our perception influenced by manipulative, capitalist infiltration? How can we teach young people who grow up in an invasive visual culture how to critically view images? What are the connections between image, thoughts and technology? What positive and negative effects do images have on us? How can we combat discrimination in imaging? What are the implications of an image culture and what does it do to our body, experience, senses and poetic language? What 'word art' should we invent if our concept of humanity changes? What does word art mean in an image culture? What is image thinking? What is the 'optical-unconscious', a term by the philosopher Walter Benjamin? Part three will focus on modern spirituality.
