Hugo Roelandt Research Project

In consultation with Lydia Van Loock, Hugo Roelandt’s wife, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Antwerp decided to keep the archive of the artist together and to use it as a platform for research on the artist and performance art in Belgium. M HKA conserves the archive and makes it public. In-depth research is presented by different partners on a website. This initiative is supported by the New Reform archives.

Argos takes the initiative for the digitization and distribution of a huge amount of videotapes. The Middelheim Museum is responsible for the realization of a few presentations by Hugo Roelandt. The M HKA organizes, thanks to the Montevideo archive (in the same period as the exhibitions in Objectif), two documentary exhibitions about Montevideo, the alternative space of which he was one of the founders.
