On November 20 and 21, we had the pleasure of welcoming Florian Wiek for a Chamber Music Masterclass. Before it took place, Wiek took the time to join forces with the internationally acclaimed cellist Justus Grimm, who is also a teacher, to deliver a beautiful aperitif concert on November 19.

Masterclass Joe Sanders

Last Tuesday, 13 December, another great master class was scheduled. American bassist Joe Sanders shared his knowledge and experience with our students.

 

Joe Sanders

Joe Sanders (1984) is a jazz bassist and composer. He attended the Brubeck Institute and the Thelonious Monk Institute. He later moved to New York where he became part of the NYC jazz scene. Since 2017, Joe tours regularly with his ensemble “Joe Sanders’ Infinity”.

We are pleased to welcome the world-renowned composer Peteris Vasks to the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp between 9 and 12 February 2022. He will provide students with insight into his work and be our guest of honour during a concert of our String Orchestra.

Not one, but four masterclasses will be given to our Jazz students on 15 October 2021. The four members of the Billy Hart Quartet will each take some of the students under their wings for an intensive coaching session on piano, drums, bass or saxophone.
