Upcoming masterclasses

At Royal Conservatoire Antwerp, we believe in continuous dialogue between talent and experience. That is why we organize a whole host of masterclasses every academic year, where renowned artists share their expertise and passion with our students.

These masterclasses are a unique opportunity to deepen their skills and broaden their artistic horizons. All Conservatoire students are welcome to participate. Alumni can join based on availability.

Screening job market professor Oboe

The School of Arts Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp of the AP University College Antwerp has an open vacancy for the position of teaching assignment Principal Study Oboe Teacher (classical music), starting September 2027. Deadline for applications is Sunday October 18th 2026.

Full houses in June: a year-end in figures

Throughout the month, 77 concerts, final performances and public examinations took place. Together, they attracted at least 5,811 audience members to the concert halls. In addition, a further 6,048 viewers watched the public classical music examinations on YouTube.

Incentive prizes give young talent a helping hand

This year’s Simone Papon-Schellens Prize goes to Hanna Peeters and Xander Kindt. The Denise Hersée Prize is awarded to Nam Ho, whilst Gardete Correia Quaresma Ferreira Afonso receives the Staes-Joossens Prize.

Jazz Summer 2026: students, alumni and teachers on Belgian stages

Summer is the season when jazz comes to life at festivals, in town squares and on concert stages across Belgium. This year, too, students, alumni and teachers from the jazz programme at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp can be heard performing at numerous venues.

Vacancy: Section chairperson of Brass and Chamber Music teacher (Brass)

We are looking for a colleague who, from the academic year 2026–2027 onwards, will take on the coordination of the Brass Section, coordinate and (partly) lead the brass ensemble (on Wednesday afternoons), and teach chamber music to brass students.

The increase in tuition fees for non-EEA students is hitting many hard, and the staff at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp and the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp deeply sympathise with the students affected.

Classical Music Public Examination 2026

During the public examinations, you are welcome to come and listen, watch and cheer on the students, free of charge and without needing to register. It’s a great opportunity to discover talent up close.
