A "composer-composer" is a composer who works rather autonomously. This profile builds on the traditional programme of a contemporary composer: writing for ensemble, orchestra and choir. "In Dreams" is, in a way, a programmatic piece. However, rather than telling a defined story. It is trying to take you on a journey through the mysterious world of dreams and emotions.
Alumnus Hans Vercauteren talks about his journey and experiences at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp. He attained his master's degree in Composition in 2013 with Wim Henderickx and Luk van Hove. He also studied orchestral conducting with Koen Kessels and Ivo Venkov. For several years now he is a member of the Artistic Council of Music at the Conservatoire.
