Sam Gevers (Belgium, 1985) is a percussionist, conductor, and composer of fourteen musicals, including Anne Boleyn, Jeanne d’Arc, Zoo of Life, Rubens, and Marie-Antoinette. He has conducted renowned orchestras for various recordings, such as the Bulgarian National Radio Orchestra, FAMES Skopje, the Bratislava & Prague Symphony Orchestra.
Sam has written numerous educational works, pieces for his percussion trio "Percussive," challenging solo pieces, and ensemble compositions for percussion, often commissioned work for competitions as ONSK and the World Music Contest (WMC).
For the solfège method Tierelier, he composed more than 150 vocal lessons.
Since 2010, Sam has been a drummer with the Royal Band of the Belgian Navy. With this orchestra, he collaborated with artists such as Paquito D’Rivera, Johnny Logan, and Ozark Henry.
As a freelance musician, he has performed with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, the National Orchestra of Belgium, Night of the Proms. As a percussionist, he worked in musicals such as Evita, Elisabeth, Joseph, Oliver!, Fiddler on the Roof, Cinderella, Chaplin, The Wizard of Oz, and Scrooge. He has conducted musicals including 40-45, Daens, and The Christmas Show.
At the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp, he works as coach for creative projects. He was founder of the percussion trio Percussive, a leading group that toured Belgian theaters for ten years.
Sam created a series of short percussion videos that were broadcast on national television. One of these films won two awards at the Corporate Video Festival. Additionally, he develops artistic audio tours for well-known brands and companies.
Sam Gevers holds a Master of Music (Percussion & Conducting) from the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp.
