Old Town listening tour

Introduction

Students Jenna Vergeynst (Harp) and David Weel (Media, writing and performance art) take us to eight places in downtown Antwerp, all connected to the Conservatoire for a special reason. Along the way, you will be joined by people who can tell us more about the importance of the places they stop at. The walk is composed of audio clips that also guide you along the way. You can find the audioclips by scanning the qr-codes on the postcards that are in the free publication. If you haven't picked up the publication yet, you can also find the walk in the FARO app.

Creator Isabel Voets

Isabel Voets, radio producer at Klara (VRT) and alumna of the Conservatoire, developed the city walk on the basis of eight historical sites: "Conservatoire Antwerp is now on the outskirts of the city, but its origins and history are very much intertwined with the city centre. The moments that were significant for the Conservatoire were often also significant for the entire city. And that strong connection is actually still there. So through this walk, you get an insight into the past, but also a better understanding of the Conservatoire's identity today." Moreover, it is a fun way to enjoy the outdoors, walk and learn.
