Programme

Bachelor Dance

The bachelor programme Dance is a balance between skill building and exploration, and knowledge and research.

Year 1

In the first year, there is a focus on skill building and knowledge. You learn to embody information in practical lessons, reflect on it in theory courses and translate it into the artistic projects.

Year 2

In the second year, the focus remains on skill building and knowledge, but with more time for creation and reflection. You will create your own solo in DE SINGEL's public spaces, participate in off-campus projects and can choose from optional subjects such as Introduction to the Arts & Humanities, Art philosophy, Artist in society, student participation and others.

Year 3

In the third year, the focus is on the application of your skills in your own work as a dancer, maker and researcher. Your final project consists of creating a group piece for first- and second-year students, your own solo in collaboration with an artist from another discipline and a paper. There are again optional subjects, including the possibility of doing an internship with a company or production.

All three-year groups participate in a creation and final performance with an artist from the field as the culmination of the academic year in June.

The bachelor programme Dance is only accessible if you meet the diploma and language requirements and when you pass the artistic entrance exam. More information can be found on this page.
