Marie-Sophie Beinke

Marie-Sophie Beinke (1990, Munich, Germany) is a visual artist, author and publisher for M-S B Verlag. She lives and works in Antwerp, Belgium. Beinke is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, where she graduated in fashion and painting. She is currently a member of the ArchiVolt research group at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp.
In her artistic practice, Beinke explores the field of interactions between the artist, the environment and the audience. For this reason, she explores the strategies of walking, sharing, collaboration and publication. Therefore, her work moves between performance, installation, painting and sculpture, but the artist also focuses on artists’ publications (book, ephemera, multiple, mail and post art) as a tool to reveal and archive her practice.

Among others, she received the Academy Department Award for painting from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, the 2nd prize of the Gaver Prize 2022, the Christine Mathys Award from Dries van Noten, the MoMu Award and the Future Fashion Designer Scholarship from Honest by Bruno Pieters.
