Sketch Book offers us an intimate and inspiring look at the drawing talent within the Academy, across all programmes.
Many of the drawings are working studies and are testament to a personal research into the visualisation of perception, memory or imagination. There are also a number of drawings that can be considered autonomous; the marks are fully registered, the drawing is accomplished, the design or composition is completed. But what these drawings certainly show us all, is the enormous, multifaceted wealth that lies within their tactile marks. They show us drawing as a means of communication and artistic expression.
