On campus

The Academy has four campuses, all within the centre of Antwerp. The Jewellery Design studios are located on the Mutsaard campus. (how to get there).

Apart from the studios and lecture rooms, the Academy (campus Mutsaard) offers a variety of unique spaces.

Lange Zaal
As the name suggests, the Lange Zaal is a monumental, long exhibition space (900m²) that is part of the Academy.

Academy Library
The Academy Library is a nice and quiet place to study. They have a small bookshop with recent publications by teachers, a "second shelf" for books by underrepresented groups (women, poc, queer) and computers to have a look at the digital databases to help you find what you're looking for.
Librarian Ine Boogmans (ine.boogmans@ap.be )or +3232137108] will gladly help you if you need more information. Follow the library on instagram.

Mixlab
The Mixlab, located next to the Winter Garden in Campus Mutsaard, is a 'maker space' available to all Academy students. They have an expanding collection of equipment that includes digital 3d printers, laser cutters, textile transfer printers, a press, a 3d scanner, a glass oven and knitting machines. It is a space for workshops, a hub for students from all departments. Besides this, the Academy also has an advanced wood atelier and a print lab.

Student restaurant
Academy canteen Komida at Campus Mutsaardstraat has a heart for sustainability and affordability. They offer daily vegetarian meals and mostly have vegan options too. The vegetables in their salads and sandwiches are seasonal, the fish they prepare is caught and cultivated in a sustainable manner and they only use bio meat. Komida uses an exchange system for their packaging: you can choose from reusable glass pots for salads, a lunch box for sandwiches or a reusable coffee cup. They are open every weekday between 9am and 3pm, but students are welcome all day to meet, study, play the piano or the football table and get a freshly brewed coffee from the machine. Komida has free wi-fi and only accepts electronic payments.

The Komida@Stadscampus restaurant of the University of Antwerp is also accessible to Academy students. It is located around the corner at Koningstraat 8 and opens every weekday between 11:45am and 1:45pm.

Besides these, some of Antwerp's best sandwich and coffee bars, restaurants or supermarkets are to be found in the area around Campus Mutsaardstraat.

Would you like to change your study programme, apply for exemptions or change direction or school? If so, we can provide you with study path counselling. During a personal meeting, we will look for the perfect study programme with you. We offer customised support: we examine the study credit, look for exemptions and determine a suitable personal trajectory.

Then contact the ombudsperson. This person ensures that the general education and examination regulations are correctly applied and, if necessary, mediates in disputes. If internal mediation is not an option or fails, the ombudsperson can also refer the matter to third parties.

Your ombuds is Charlotte Plaskie (charlotte.plaskie@ap.be).
