Twenty years ago, the 'kunstenaarsstatuut' was introduced, an adaptation of the rules concerning social security focused on artists. Now we are presented with a great reform: the so-called 'kunstwerkattest'. The change was made possible together with the participation platform Working in the Arts. (source: Kunstenpunt).

CALL TO ACTION
Did you graduate (not so) recently from the Academy and do you have beautiful, fun, interesting group photos from your proclamation? Or did you happen to find a box of black-and-white, grainy photos of widely smiling Academy alumni? Please send them to firstname.lastname@example.org with a mention of the (graduation) year and any names that you can link to the photo.
Use the new hashtag #royalacademyantwerpalumni and stay up to date on what your fellow students are doing!
IN THE SPOTLIGHT
The Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts is about to blow out 360 birthday candles. You can only imagine how many students have graduated here in the past couple of years - and even centuries! – and have traded the familiar ateliers and classrooms for a career in the arts sector or cultural field.
We like to put a spotlight on our alumni, whether recently graduated or having left the schools years or decades ago.
