Alexis Gautier

Alexis Gautier (1990) graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. He focuses his research on experiments connected to process, transformation and movement.

His recent works in Indonesia, China and Nepal are episodes of a continuous exploration of misunderstandings. Facts, fictions, myths, and material’s specificity become tools to engage individuals into collaborative works, sketching a dialogue between the specific and the general.

He is currently assisting american artist Richard Tuttle on various projects. Upcoming solo shows are Europalia Indonesia at Bozar and at Musée de La Boverie in Liège and Stairs, Zebra, Bees & Light Purple Jacket at Hostem in London. Recent group shows includes ZZMS curated by Jan Boelen and Evelien Bracke at the Zuiderzee Museum, Enkhuizen (NL), Bèz Panike at Charlama Gallery in Sarajevo and Talking Textiles in New York.
