Michal Luft

Michal Luft lives and works in Antwerpen (BE). Her practice involves photography and site-specific works, where she captures, interprets, and recreates everyday objects, in order to explore myths, norms, and narratives embedded within Western social structures. 

Luft (b.1989) holds an MFA (2022) from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, and a BFA (2018) from Shenkar Multidisciplinary Art School, Tel Aviv. Her works have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions, recently including S.M.A.K., Gent; Marres, Maastricht; Universal Exports, Antwerpen; Rosenfeld Gallery, Tel Aviv; Natural History Museum, Tel Aviv and Haifa Museum among other venues. She has been awarded the InSitu³ Prize from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp (2022), the Young Artist Award from the Ministry of Culture (2022), the Rabinovich Foundation Award (2021), Adams Prize for Emerging Artists (2019) and the AICF Cultural Foundation Award for young artist’s extraordinary achievement (2018).
