Sarah Moeremans (1979) studied acting at the Herman Teirlinck studio and directing at the Theaterschool in Amsterdam, as well as Visual Art and Philosophy. She developed her first theatrical work at various Dutch production houses, after which she created her own company Moeremans&sons in 2012. At the same time, she found her way to the wider public with performances she developed at companies such as Orkater, NNT and Tg Oostpool. Her work is characterised by strong stage direction, a love of contemporary texts, a combination of social engagement and a sense of irony.
In 2005 she won the City of Ghent's 'Kunst in de buurt' prize and the Ton Lutz prize. 'Alleen in je wereld' was selected for the BNG Nieuwe Theaterprijs in 2010 and in 2014 she was awarded the 'Erik Vos' prize.
Sarah Moeremans is a teacher at the Drama - Acting departement.
