  • WANTED: hidden conservatoire stories

WANTED: hidden conservatoire stories

For the 125th anniversary of the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp, we are looking for stories that once took place behind its closed doors. Which encounter will you never forget? What did you leave behind? What remained hidden forever in room x until now? And which story should never be lost?

Through short and longer pieces of audio, from June onwards, we will give listeners access to the stories that take place behind the closed doors of the conservatoire. Stories from a hundred years ago to today. Stories of dancers, actors, musicians and passers-by.

Open brief: DE GROTE DROOGLEGGING?

A MAJOR DRAIN?

Dear Mrs. alderman, dear Nabilla,

Erasing the city’s project subsidies for arts and culture for the next three years is a disastrous gesture. The Antwerp arts sector is still shaken by the pandemic effects and is still vulnerable.
This decision threatens to hit the art scene once again in its core.

Resilient artist: mental well-being lessons for performing artists

All first-year students in Dance, Drama and Music at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp will take a compulsory course on mental health starting this academic year. And that is much needed, because research shows that performing artists often struggle with psychological challenges.

Resilient artists' is the name of the brand-new course that aspiring performing artists will be offered from the new academic year onwards.
