Soup Session by Yorgos Maraziotis
Tuesday 16 May 2023, 12:30-14:00
starting with Soup in the Research Room
+ walk through the Academy and the garden
For his multidisciplinary intervention 'Mythical Truths', artist-researcher Yorgos Maraziotis turns oral narrations into language-based neon, metal and marble sculptures, printed matter and sound projections which he presents throughout the Academy, creating a polyphonic landscape where personal truths blur with collective myths and shape the identity of the institution.
The research project 'Mythical Truths' stems from Maraziotis’ necessity to look into the school model as an educational, pedagogical and cultural ecosystem where his vision of sculpture and archiving can amplify or sustain its social diversity.
During this Soup Session, Yorgos Maraziotis will introduce briefly his project over a bowl of soup, and then walk with us past his sculptures throughout the Academy and the garden.
